The maze is a plus shape with two closed arms and two open arms. The arms are made with PVC material and placed on a stainless steel frame, allowing for easy maintenance of the apparatus. There are two types of software, for a single subject and for two subjects. By using the software, the experimenter only needs to place the subject on the maze and the rest of the test is automated. The advantage of the elevated plus maze software lies in the offline analysis. In this analysis, the criteria for entry into each arm can be modified and reanalyzed.
